about us
Stanford Kitchen has become an institution among locals and visitors alike. Situated in the middle of Stanford Village in a historic heritage building this old residential home of yesteryear has been converted into our charming restaurant. Sit inside by the cosy wood-burner lit in winter, enjoy the afternoon sunshine on the back stoep or sit at our small tables on our front stoep and watch Stanford life go by.
- wine bar
In collaboration with Bruce Jack Wines, we added a lovely, modest wine bar area to the restaurant that offers our patrons a wide selection of these world-renowned wines. See the wine list here.
The vineyards are primarily based in the Overberg and Breedekloof Valley but unique parcels of grapes are also sourced from elsewhere. As per Bruce Jack website:
“We are able to craft wines of complexity, character, balance, intrigue, yumminess and nuance at a “Lifestyle” price point through careful blending of small parcels of excellence from high-altitude, dry-grown, cool climate vineyards.”
- our food
We focus on quality, artisanal food executed with efficient and friendly service. Our menu is on the smaller side to ensure we always have exceptional, fresh, and whenever possible, locally sourced ingredients on hand.
Open daily from 9am – 8pm for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Our pizzas are our pride and joy, hand-made with care, using exceptional ingredients and baking them in our own locally manufactured Pizzo ovens. Please consult the Pizzo website for more information on how to buy or rent these pizza ovens.
- art Gallery and events
Stanford Kitchen is a hub for informal local meetings, private functions, and live music events – a stage for both Stanford local artists and nationally acclaimed musicians. Please follow us on Facebook to stay informed of future shows.
We are also an art gallery that display and sell sculptures, paintings and photographs of local artists.
